Katie the Scrapbook Lady has an awesome blog that is a great resource on not only scrapbooking but also things like photography tips, computer tips, iPhone apps and lots of other really cool stuff. Every month she does her “Round Up” where she answers a series of questions and backs up her photos… such a smart lady! I’ve decided to try to do the same this year. So far, I’m one for one and here is my January Round Up…
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
— The Scarpetta Factor, Patricia Cornwell… not one of my favorites in the series
— I also started What the Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell and Ford County by John Grisham… I need to start carving out more reading time
What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
— Real Housewives of Orange County
— Football Playoffs
— Kansas Basketball
— Kitchen Nightmares
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
— We rang in the New Year with a trip to Pleasant Dale, NE to see Jim’s sister and her family
— We spent some nice quality time with family. Aunt Barb & Uncle Ward watched Robert two days when Mommy had interviews and we spent a whole day out at Granny’s house.
— We spent a fun afternoon at Crown Center and ate at Fritz’s
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
— We sent a fruit basket to our friend Dianne who was recovering from a pulmonary embolism
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
— We didn’t really purchase anything unusual this month as we are trying to watch our expenses.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
— We have all been amazingly healthy this year. Other than obnoxious colds we are all enjoying good health.
— I am still having insomnia.
What were my accomplishments this month?
— I finished my first photo book and sent it off to Winkflash to be printed. I can’t wait to get it back… all 100 pages.
What were my disappointments this month?
— I still haven’t found the perfect job.
Anything else noteworthy to include?
— We adopted two rescued kittens, Mel & Jack. We’re hoping they adjust to their new surroundings soon.
— Robert is an explosion of words right now. New phrases include:
“I don’t know.” As he shrugs his shoulders.
“I fix it”
“Not yet” Generally in response to, “Robert, let’s go change your diaper”
“Yes?” in response to anytime I call out his name.
